Macrobiotics
is a life style. It’s basis is to develop an
awareness of the foods that best fit the life we want to lead. It
requires tuning into the natural life forces that govern this planet,
for instance the seasons, or the energy produced by vegetable
foods and animal foods. It requires an interest in how our body evolves
naturally and how we can best support our biological, emotional and
spiritual development.
Although
the macrobiotic lifestyle is very broad and deep, it begins with the
practical task of cooking for oneself. Macrobiotics considers body and
spirit to be one phenomenon. What we eat will become our spirit
eventually. Of course our nourishment is not just the food we eat, but
also the ideas and thoughts and experiences we take in. But in the
macrobiotic viewpoint natural health starts with building and
maintaining a healthy biological foundation by daily eating the natural
foods that most benefit the growth of healthy cells in our blood,
organs, body. This will eventually benefit our soul, the other part of
our being.
In
this view most of our meals in the climate zones of the U.S. and Europe
consist of primarily (whole) grains and vegetable quality foods,
supplemented with animal quality foods, like fish on a weekly, and
organic dairy or eggs or poultry on a monthly basis. This is a diet fit
for natural human well-being.It is no coincidence that those
foods where at the basis of the cultures of ancient peoples all over
the planet.

instead of using a microwave…..study the Macro Wave!
