The Macrowave is the home of John and Christine Stevens. They studied
macrobiotics as taught by Michio and Aveline Kushi, Herman and Cornelia Aihara,
and David Briscoe in the US.and also with Adelbert and Wieke Nelissen in The
Netherlands. All these teachers were inspired by George Ohsawa, the Japanese
teacher, writer, thinker and peace activist who started the macrobiotic
‘movement’ about 55 years ago.
John (65) and Christine (54) consider their macrobiotic life style as the
foundation of their marriage, because it’s inspiring look on life gave them the
confidence to marry after about one month of dating.
Since 1990 Christine has hosted macrobiotic cooking classes, mostly in their
current home, which has a big kitchen that can accommodate up to 6 students.
Although their tax business Equitax keeps them very busy , they welcome those
who would like to study more. John and Christine have two teenage daughters
(almost 13 and 16)
